Default B18C5 - 85mm Sleeved Tolerances

I had no choice (no money) after my 84mm went kapow! And even the 84.5mm re-bore did not fix the scratches so I went 85mm. Now when I am 95% finished on this new set up I begin to hear horror stories about 85mm turbo builds.

My old set up at 84mm at 32lbs did a tad over 700hp - I would like to be at the same HP range or even higher if it is possible. With that being said, what are the experiences you've had on 85mm set ups. My 2 areas of concern are:

1. HP/Boost Tolerances
2. Head Gasket Issues

I understand that every motor is different, all I am asking for is what YOU have experienced or witnessed.

we cant help you without knowing what sleeves you have.

as far as I know, 81-85mm sleeves, darton to be exact, will handle anything you throw at it with 85mm bore. thats it though, no more boring imo.

I called Golden Eagle last week to ask them a similar question and they told me anything over 85mm usually has issues with head gaskets sealing.

I ran an 85mm darton sleeve setup; 11.5:1, 34lbs of boost, no o-rings, golden eagle head gasket. Seemed to hold just fine.
