Default fuel pressure regulator?

Right so my friend is saying i need a fuel pressure regulator for my turbo setup.
I was pretty certain the map decides the fuelling and the stock regulator can handle the extra volume.
I will be using walbro pump, rc 750's probably running 12psi max.

Ready for another conflict?
Big injectors of that size work best with one, to fine tune any mechanical anomolies. Best to have one and not need it, then need it, and not have it.

I didn't run one with 1000cc injectors and the car idled like stock. If you can afford it though its not a bad thing to have.

Completly agree, BUT it ended up biting me in the ***! in CA a aftermarket FPR is deemed a illegal modification i was pulled over one day and they checked my engine and the only thing they could find was that FPR everything else had a carb emmisions sticker or plate so the cop gave me a ref ticket where they check EVERYTHING and smog your car. Just was a big hassel for me because i daily drove my car at that time. Basically CA suck nutts! so if your state is like CA dont use it if you dont need too lol

See. that's what happens when you're in **** Cali.. When I lived there I was smart enough to keep my registration and license in a "friendly" state so that never became an issue. Did it for over 4 years.

You poor bastards.

Well my tuners never mentioned any issue because i had a stock oem fpr in the past on my setups, the engines were modified to a good extent boosting 12-18psi.

But you were running a supercharger, much lower fuel and airflow demands compared to a moderately sized turbocharger at the same pressure levels... That's also where the need to fine tune base fuel pressure can come in handy.

Depending on fuel pump, injector size, fuel type used, and power levels it can be beneficial to raise base fuel pressure, sometimes up to 60psi or more with modern Bosch EV14 base injectors.

I got ahold of a true sard for and love it. Like above said, it's there if/when you need it. Nothing worse than being on the dyno and having something sooooo simple cause you to hit a wall and have to retune. I prefer them as the stock may work for now but at high psi the diaphragm can fail at any given moment on an oem unit

eh, the sard unit is a fairly low flowing unit, at least if it's the one I'm thinking of.

It wasn't designed for anything larger than a 6an line

I actually run 6an lines so you could very well be correct about it being low flowing as ive only used 6 an. I've run this sard model on my two most recent builds but I don't run uber high fuel pressure either. Another downside to the sard or tomei is they are sooooo hard to find a true model as they are heavily copied. That being said, I absolutely love the sard for my mild street builds but am gonna look into the limits of them for knowledge reasons.

Also, do NOT get the hacksaw special fpr as they are virtually useless. Fuel delivery products are not something to skimp on. Same goes for a tune

I'll agree with this statement as its on my Camaro ss going on 9yrs without an issue. Don't care for its "blocky" looks but certainly reliable and effective.
I also don't care for the rail mounted regulators. I always go standalone
