Is this the right size Flex Hone for a B18B?
I have stock bore 81mm in my LS and would like to use a Flex Hone if possible. When I do a conversion from mm to inch I get 3.188 inches. The closest I can find is this
so will that work or do they not make the proper sized hone?
if u are looking to just deglaze the cyl walls id look for a 400-600 grit 240 is pretty coarse for a final home imo. flex hones are actually pretty easy to use. u should have a good dial bore gauge too so u can measure out of round and cyl bore so u know how much u took off and what ur ptw tolerance will be.
I am using Hastings piston rings and they say to properly seat their rings to use a 240 grit with a 45 degree cross hatch. I know in in the manual it says 400 grit but I am not using stock OEM rings. There is some light scratching in one cylinder, just enough to feel but not even enough to catch a nail on. I figure the coarser grit should take care of it. I am not going to hone it 20 over as I could risk cracking the cylinder.

Also side note anyone know what grit Mahle Clevit recommends for thier rings? I'll call tomorrow they are just closed as I am doing this....
