Alternator or Battery Issues (07 Civic LX)
Have a weird issue going on...
First Im a new user on here so any tips would be greatly appreciated...I own a 2007 Civic LX (Manual Transmission)
It started a few months ago...I have Subs in my car(wiring attached to the battery with a fuse attached) When I would drive at night the lights would dim then go bright.
A few months ago, my radio would start to shut off, then the interior lights would go off, then the car would chug a few times and then DIE...every time I get jumped it is fine for about 3 weeks, then it would happen again...couldn't even leave an interior light on or head lights on with car off for more then 3 seconds, battery would die and would need a jump.
Happend two weeks ago, Car died while I was driving...Battery light came on, radio shut off, then chugged then died. Bought a new battery
Today...Battery light came on...Dropped it off at the shop...is it a bad altenator or is it my subs draining the battery? Whats going on, and if I have the Alternator replaced how much does that usually cost? Already bout a $160 battery. UGH!

It could be one of many things. The first thing I would do is go get your alternator load tested at a local parts shop (Pep Boys, Autozone, etc.) Also to make sure that the contacts and contact points for the battery and to the chassis are clean as well.
