do i need a retune???
Do you have a wideband? It's probably a little leaner now, but if it was tuned conservative to begin with it might be ok. You really just need to data log it with a wideband to know for sure.
Buy a wideband ,for under 200 u can have a decent wideband.200 is cheaper than leaning out a motor, and almost as importantly giving u peace of mind .also you know youl be buying more goodies so youl need to be able to make ongoing adjustments.
I wouldn't run a forced induction motor without a wideband. They have come way down in price. Takes maybe 5-20 minutes to install depending upon whether or not you have do drill a hole and weld a bung. But if you are replacing a stock o2 sensor, then 5 minutes and $200 will save your engine from detonation and give you peace of mind. The question is why are you running without one?
Cause i feel i really dont need one and i dont have any plans at all changing anything on my setup but is it okay to drive it around town without having it retuned just like partial throttle

Hopefully you will feel any changes in the performance of your engine. A $200 investment is like insurance. You can see a problem on a wideband before it becomes catastrophic.
Only if your tuner sucks. All you can do really if it shoots lean fast is shut the car down. that's it, really. Unless you're doing the actual tuning, opinions will vary on this. its been beaten to death already.
Didnt know tuners can tell you when a fuel filter collapses or clogs. Or when a fuel pump dies or when anyother millions of reasons a wideband will help you before you take your car back to a tuner
Or help see a deficiency before you destroy your engine. It's your car, your money and your arrogance, but the one thing I have learned is that the people on these forums know collectively more than any one tuner or manual. I have been spared problems and saved money by taking some free advice. Just my 2 cents. Happy Cinco De Mayo.
Ok. Again, to each. For the common man, you still can only shut it down fast enough, regardless of the situation. (there are other symptoms to tell you THOSE specifics before a wideband will help anyway fast enough in a sticky situation).
You don't mind those parts (fuel filters, pumps, etc) you're asking for trouble anyway. That's why we check these items' ability to function occasionally before we go ripping and running around raising hell, right?
You are absolutely right HansDelSolo, without a doubt.. My car, money, and arrogance (and my mistake if I'm wrong).. 15 years turbocharged (10 of those on the same engine block), 2 cylinder heads (no z would have saved me from those problems on the circuit) and still kickin'. But I guess.. that's just luck for me.
Gee.. I hope I don't have a hole in my block...

You firing shots?
I asked a long time ago. You always say 10 years bla bla
How many miles in those 10 years?
Youve never seen a fuel pump (or any part for that matter) faulty straight off the shelf? We dont live in a perfect world, **** happens.
A wideband is used more than just at wot. We're re all not brian o conor like you.
If im daily driving my car and notice the wide band lean then the car sudenly die guess what the first area i am gonna look at is?
Same scenario no wideband well then i have to start from scratch and check everything
It doesnt pull that hard i guess, and i was surprised coz i was expecting to hear my vtec crossover after changing to side exit but nada, i will get it tuned definitely but is it okay to drive the car for now? Just normal driving and staying away from boost..
Gauges are good for watching trends. You get used to what oil pressure / temperature your car runs at and will notice when things are off. Same thing applies to a wideband. A car tuned in the summer is going to run leaner in the winter, generally not enough to be an issue but I like to know when it is.
Wide band saved my Lightning. Started off as mail order tune, I datalogged and sent that to the tuner and he touched it up, I installed the new tune. I eased into it and noticed the AFR's were not dropping with initial boost. Contacted tuner and Oh **** I sent you the wrong file. Had I not had the wideband I would have at least burned the plugs. Changing plugs on a Lightning sux!!!!!

I eventually will pick up a zeitronix A/F meter this year that will replace the clock in the dashboard. I will be making subtle changes to the ECU based upon different elevations of the tracks I'll be going on.
But I agree. That's pretty messed up for that to happen to you.
