well i was thinking that by shortening the pipe i would be affecting spool time and getting boost at a little lower rpm? maybe creating a lean condition for a second before the ecu catches up? i dont want to re tune......i just spent 400 bucks on a full tune

a retune should be MUCH cheaper cause they would only make minor changes, if your in doubt just do it, it should be $100 ish or so... or better yet call the tuner and ask there opinion...

I see that you are from Puyallup, who tuned your car? But if they are "minor" adjustments, you should be fine without retuning it.

no, i ran a front mount in my s13 then did a v mount shorting the piping by like 5ft, there was maybe a spool time differance of 50rpm. there is no reason why you should retune your car.

call james and ask him, and like said earlier he is not going to charge you as much since he will only have to tweak your tune, and i would get it done so if nothing more at least you will have peace of mind
