Icon2 Texas Inspection Question

I have a tune by VitViper on my Civic Si. I am assuming I have to revert back to stock to pass inspection.

After this, is it safe to re-load the final tune he sent me and start up my car, or do I have to load each one sequentially back up to it?

I am not sure if the cam angle changes will damage my car going strait from being back at stock to our final tune?

Any help is appreciated.

Edward

Hi Edward, I hate to assume here. What year is the chassis and what is the tuning platform? Have you contacted your tuner?

It's a mail order tune from a guy in Oregon. He does remote tunes on the newer stuff and dropped support for OBD-1 platforms. I think he is asking more about for passing emissions.

OP - You absolutely do not have to go "in steps" back to the final tune. He just does that because he makes minor changes and then requests more datalogs. The final map has each change in it. For all you know something was backed out in a previous tune and you don't want it on your ECU. You will be fine to go to the stock map since your car is stock and then proceed straight to the final tune afterwards. Essentially those other tunes are only for Vit himself as a reference to tune your car and should be deleted. The final tune should be your only concern.

Thank you! Yes, this is what I was wondering-if it was safe to go strait from the stock map to the final tune.

FWIW I passed a Texas inspection last month without uploading the stock map on my '13 si with a cat delete. The main thing is that once you upload another tune, you'll have to drive it for a long period or else the inspection report will show "not ready" for some of the sensors and keep you from passing.

Is it just a plug in test?
