Transmission Bolt Leaking
Not the drain bolt, but just a bolt that's holding the pan or a piece of it.
Should I just put sealant (jbweld or something on top of the bolt), or get a new bolt? Would it be best to drain all the ATF fluid first and then put in this new bolt and see if it still leaks. And if it does, would anyone recommend some kind of sealant or thread locker on the bolt? Like Permatex/Hi-temp RTV? The bolts are pretty long also. I have already tried to tighten it down. Set it to 30 ft pounds on torque and it was already at that setting. I didn't want to go any harder than that.

I would inspect the tranny case for impact damage.. my wife hit a bomb crater.. read pot hole in New Orleans...crackled the case right at the front bolt.. it was leaking fluid badly.. you cant really repair that kind of damage.. i wouldnt anyway unless it was to just get home..so I had to put another tranny..
I know that's bad news.. just being real man..
