Hello,

I think I may have a bent control arm but wanted to check with you guys first. When I go up a drive way and load the driverside wheel, it starts rubbing the fender liner/bumper and causes the bumper and fender to push out when I turn the steering wheel. However, passenger side is fine and the wheel goes up into the fender rather than move up and forward. I'm not sure if this makes sense to some of you.

What year/model do you have? Is it stock or lowered?

 

Oh, sorry. This is a 99 EK. It's lowered and I have roughly 1.5 finger gap on the front. Only aftermarket pieces I have up front is buddy club camber arm installed correctly left and right and buddy club ball joint.

 

Also, alignment was done and set at -3.4. The camber arms are new but iirc, the caster on the rubbing wheel (driver side)was around .6 to .8 degrees more positive than the other.

 

Well a positive caster, if I'm not mistaken, pushes the contact point of the tire forward which could be causing the tire to be rubbing the fender, wheel well. Can you replicate the effects while the car is stationary?

 

I believe it's too much positive caster too. I cannot replicate the effect since the suspension is static.

 

As in you can't start up the driveway with the load, stop the car and check what's going on right quick? Anyway, caster could be your problem. Or if you think the arm is bent, jack it up and take a look.

 

Oh you mean like that. Yes, I can easy replicate it by going up and down driveways. It's the same effect every time. I checked the control arm and everything looked fine but until I get my replacement driver side, I won't know for certain.
