OBD2 H22A4 Del Sol Swap help/write up
hey guys new to the forum, i just bought a h22a4 so i can drop it in a del sol. i have some questions regurding the parts/ wiring section.
ok i know im going to need
motor/trans with all senors parts - got that i think
harness from the h22- i have the harnnes but just the half that goes to the strut tower clips/connectors
mounts
axles
p13/p28 chipped ecu
d series harness - extedned to fit h22
and prelude shifter assembly and cables
now i got a good hold of the wiring except for the crank position sensor. i know an obd1 del sol the sensor is in the distributor.... so do i runa obd1 h22a4 distrbutor? or can i wire it to the exsiting spot?
also im not going to have most the egr/evp solenoids and lines so i would imagine there might be a cel if i ran a p13.
so thats it for right now, ill post pic up of the swap as i go along so when someone whats to do this swap in the future ill have very detailed and pictured guide.

Is the p13 going to be obd1 or 2? For obd2 you'll need to make sure all your evap and EGR components are hooked up right or you'll have check engine lights. You'll also have to wire the knock sensor, Iabs and VTEC (if your del sol isn't already VTEC).
For the p28 you'll only need VTEC wired and none of the emissions items will throw a check engine light.

Ya ive decided to go p28, but this dizzy is really ******* with me. The d series has the internal coil and cps. So what dizzy should I run thats the same and the d series connectors plug in to. Could I run a jdm h22 dizzy? Or h23 as long as its internal?
Ok I think I need to use H22A1 internal coil dizzy or a jdm h22 , I compared plugs and they both seem to match, would an h23 dizzy work too for that fact?

sorry to bring up an old thread, but just wondering if you swapped the engine successfully? i have a 94 sol si with a jdm b16 (obd1 sirII) that ill be driving while i build my h22a4 swap over the next few years (however long it takes). I am in no rush and dont mind doing the research myself but if you can give me a quick list of all the parts you used (distributor, linkage, half shaft, harness, and all that jazz) just to save me some time looking it all up since youve done the swap. i already have a p28 with hondata s300 to use with the swap. no rush but i would appreciate any list you can give me for a quick reference so i can start accumulating parts. thanks alot
