This is what I saw. My question is this typical for a 94 Accord? Does the gauge not go up all the way?

I remember for a while i had a bad ignition coil that constantly had a slight miss that caused me to have 20 mpg instead of 22 mpg. I could never track down the cause but i noticed my gauge started doing the same thing. At some point i replaced my coil with a new Standard motor t-series from rockauto and immediately noticed my miss was gone. Then after a couple fillups i noticed my gauge was back to normal(all the way up) and has been fine ever since

The only thing i could think of was my gauge was taking less time going from top to bottom so somehow the gauge started acting up.

Im not saying your issue is the same but i also noticed a similar issue on my tachometer when i had my idle screw too far out and couldnt get my base idle to 600. It started being off by about 600 after some time. When i finally figured out my idle screw was too far out and i fixed it by resetting my base idle, my tachometer started slowly gooing back to normal and after about 500 miles it fixed itself and not a single issue ever since.

This was all when i first started working on my accord.

My 95 was always a bit "slow" to go to full in it's last days - hey after over 385K things start to act up. After about 5 minutes is would go to full. Personally I wouldn't worry with it, the sending unit is getting old.

The trouble of messing with it ir replacing is not worth it IMHO

Gauge normally goes all the way up, however if the station was angled, float sticking or sinking then the gauge may not read full. With a ~1/4 tank left it usually takes ~11 gallons to fill up for the '95 EX coupe and read Full.

When I got my 94 from my daughter, I left it with a mechanic for about 6 months to get some work done. When I got it back, the fuel gauge barely worked. As I started driving it daily the gauge got better, and finally it works normally. I attributed it to the lack of use during the time it was sitting up.

OP- If you want to do some testing of the sending unit you can - there is a panel on the pass side of the trunk where you can get at the sending unit. You can verify a good ground and the measure the resistance of the unit when the float is at different positions.
