greddy egt gauge: hooked up right needle doesnt move
im trying to finalize the troubleshooting on my egt gauge. it is wired up properly and the sending unit is properly installed in my manifold. problem: gauge needle doesnt move when the car is on.
today i unclipped the sending unit and ran some power through the sending unit wires to the gauge, and it would pin the needle the come back down, so i know the gauge itself moves. does this mean that my sending unit(proble) is bad? everything else so far seems to check out

Remember, the guage is in Celcius, so at idle, the needle will barely move, if at all, since egts will be lower than the reading of the guage can give at idle. I don't want to assume, but have you actually tried driving the car at varying speeds to make sure that it is working properly? The needle should slowly move up by then.

yeah i know it wont move much at idle. i hat it on the 2step to put load on it so i could double check that when i had it pinned. i also took a 300 mile trip and nothing

the sending units are 113 bucks from greddys website!!!
i think im just gonna buy another used gauge. if i fix the current problem, good. then i will have a spare gauge to use in my next car

The Innovate TC-4 is a little over $100 from vendors like Xenocron, and you can use any k-type (iirc), which means using their $90 sensor or a $25 unit on ebay, home-made for airplanes. It also will log 4 sensors.
