Temp gauge electrical problems
The other day i was drivin and their was a new pothole in the rode, i tried to dodge but i still hit it, i heard my car bottem out and i heard a slight scrape, ever since my temp gauge and also the backlighting to the gauge cluster has been acting weird
at idle the temp gauge works fine but when under load it will move around real fast dropping all the way to cold and then back up but it doesnt ever go about normal, it moves fast and i can tell its electrical, also when i see the temp gauge starting to move up and down, the backlight to the gauge dims, if i press the clutch in and let it idle the temp gauge will go to normal and the backlight brightens up

Faulty " Engine coolant temperature sending unit "/wiring , replace it.
You can diagnose it
1) unplug the connector
2) jump it to ground
3) put key in on position
4) Observe if the gauge pointer. If it works it should begin moving towards H, turn ignition switch off before it reaches the max.
If it doesn't check the wiring for a short , if continues to fail replace the sending unit
