1987 Accord Lxi Motor Mounts
I am new to this site and have always just been able to swap the easier parts under the hood. (Starters, Alternators, Power Steering, etc) I picked up this car really cheap and decided to try the water pump. That meant a timing belt change as well which is a lot more than I had ever done before.
It turned out well so now I'm going after the motor mounts since the car has now developed a real bad vibration when stopped at a light with the car in gear.
I have the car jacked up and supported and have jacks under the AT and motor. I have the bottom cross piece off with AT mount. I am working on the front mount but am stuck on the last bolt that is buried next to the rubber mount. I can see the bolt but I'm not seeing a way to get to It. Do I have to take off the front subframe piece? That seems like a bit extreme? Also, the rear mount looks very difficult as well. Any tips from those that have done these before would be appreciated. Thanks!
