I would like to know if this swap can be done motor and all, what is needed and if theres anything special that has to be done,wiring cluster any help will be appeciated.

First off do emissions in your area require the plug in or require that the engine be the same year or newer in your car?

 

i live in california , i am looking to get best mpg and economic tranny swap

 

Federal law requires any replacement motor to be same year or newer for emission reasons. So good luck passing that in Cali! Get a cx/vx transmission to improve mpg.

 

Its pretty straight forward what you need already, engine, engine harness, ecu and the oem wideband o2 sensor.

Instead of the vx motor use an hx very similar motor and for Cali you can put it in your car legally.
In Cali the vx ECU does not use leanburn anyway it uses a reg 4 wire o2 because emissions... but still gets good mpg
The hx does not have leanburn for Cali emissions again but you will still get excellent mpg. And can get one for your car they made hx's till 05
Everywhere else vx's and hx's have leanburn its just a difference in ecus and 5 wire o2
sensor
Put in a hx get a 48 state ECU run a 5 wire o2 and when it comes time for emissions get a Cali ECU and 4 wire o2 you'll be legal and pass emissions
