lots of white smokes comes out of my civic.
Hi,I have a 2006 honda civic, and I am new in here and facing a big major problem. And need for some help. So we just put in a used engine in my honda civic. Me and my friend did everything in the right way and now when we turn on the car, the engine turns on for like 3 minutes and after that it shakes and turn off itself. and lots lots of white smoke coming out of tail exist pipe. when I push it makes more white smoke. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
What motor did you put it?
Also white smoke means you are burning coolant so you can be looking at either a blown head gasket, a damaged cylinder head or a cracked engine block!

i changed the engine because the old one was over heated and I think it had blowen headgasket and were doing the same thing, but with this one it's doing the samething and the engine shakes and turn off itself. When I checked the codes yesterday. It was saying random multiple misfire detected, and cylinder 3 and 4 misfire detected. So I changed the coil and spark plugs and now cylinder 2 and 3 misfire and engine shakes and turn off itself, engine light blanking and I really don't know what to do next. I really appreciate for all your helps. I am looking forward to fix this.

So I replaced the spark plugs and coils from my old engine and even changed 02 sensor and the engine sign is gon now and runs. But the engine shakes a little and I have no idea why? And this is the third gallon of coolant that I am putting in. So anyone knows why the engine shakes and white smoke is coming from the tail????
I told you already, the intake gasket or the head gasket isblown, or the block is cracked. The coolant is getting into the cylinders ( if you replaced the plugs, which one was grey?) and the coolant is mixing with your intake charge. This is preventing the engine from burning the fuel and it gets rough.
Listen to the people who have posted answers to your question and follow up with some investigation if your own.
Otherwise, you will watch this engine detonate and you will be out the cash for another one.

Apart from all this great advice I think you should do yourself the favor and stop playing mechanic!
Go get a professional to check it out!

So finally I have found out that they gave me a blown headgasket engine and they take this one and give me another one. So when I checked the oil and oil dipstick, the oil looked like milkshake.so it was the headgasket. I wish I should have checked it before I put the engine. Thanks for all your help guys. I had to take this engine out and put the new one.
