For some reason I was driving last night, got home and parked my car and went to get in this morning and I could not get out of 2and and go into any other gear, it's like it is stuck in 2and. The lever will not go anywhere, the clutch seems to be find it's just the lever is stuck. Any suggestions on what to do to fix this. This is on my Dx beater car to and I really need to find out what the problem is.

Yeah I can somewhat start it going but it's in 2and so it makes it kinda hard, and I've tried to move it up and get it out of gear into neutral and it still does not work.

hmm try revving the engine up slowly and putting some pressure on the shift lever to try and push it out of gear. once you hit the right rpm, the shift lever should pop out (b/c you can actually shift gears without a clutch is you rev match.)

dude that happened to my SI tranny about 1 1/2 weeks ago..its not going to fix itself...
does it stuck on 2nd but goes into any other gear?? but when u let the clutch goes its still stuck on 2nd?? u dont have neutral bc its actually still stuck in 2nd??? while u drive in 2nd u can move it into any other gear and eosnt do anything??if this happen it means the tranny its Fu%^&*.... i just swaped the Si one for a DX>... have no option!.... i am going to open it and see what went wrong... i just gotta say.. u need a new tranny!and it sucks!

 

Last time that hapened to me, I had been autocrossing the car, and the beating that I had been dishing out broke one of the gear selector forks. They are alleged to be somewhat weak. A friend of mine who had seen the problem before got into my car, and just slammed the shifter forward, and it popped out of 2nd, and from then on, shifted normally.

Once I got the tranny off and apart a few weeks later, I found 1 of the fingers of the 1st-2nd selector fork sitting in the bottom of the tranny case.
