Default 1993 pre powerstroke garrett

Hey ht I just bought a Garrett turbo off of a 1993 pre powerstroke ford. I was wondering if anyone has used this turbo, how it spools, and what kind of power your making. Thank you!

Maybe you should have asked about that turbo here before you bought it.

I wouldn't be surprised if you can't use that turbo. Not to mention not knowing the connection it may be in.

You bought a turbo off a 7.3L diesel, and thought it had a realistic application for a Honda motor? You shouldn't have even needed to ask, you should have just thought about it for a second. Turbos for motors that size are in the GT40 to GT42 territory. You could use it...for a drag car, or a dyno queen, but not much else.

Idk man, a $40 turbo sounds like a sweet door stop or paper weight. No wait, hang it from the rear view mirror. Now that would be stylish.

I mean, I'd probably clean it up and stick in on my mantle somewhere just to look cool.

That makes me want to take the one I have and create an exploded display for educational purposes.

Pre powerstroke diesels were IDI motors and weren't turbocharged from the factory.

a few companies made aftermarket non-intercooled turbo kits for them. they used Garrett turbos, typically a straight t4 turbo...

t4 turbine housing (free floating, no wastegate), large p-trim turbine wheel, t04b compressor wheel in a t04e compressor housing.

this makes the turbo too big and lazy for 99% of turbo Hondas, not to mention t04b wheels only make decent power using high pressure ratios.

without photos and measurements we can't help you.
