Default DA Front Brakes

My buddy is donating his car and I would like to upgrade the front disk brakes of my EF. What exactly do I need from the DA? Is it just the calipers and rotors?

Anything else worth getting from the DA? I know the rear disk brakes will work but I don't the skills for that project.

TIA

Unless you have a 90/91 ex sedan, you will need the full front knuckle from the DA. Good thing is, it will bolt right up. Just diconnect the 3 ball joints and the brake hose, and put the whole thing onto your car. Reconnect the brake hose and the 3 ball joints, bleed the brakes, and you are good to go!

Now, it would be wise to replace worn out parts while you are in there. Such as the ball joints, tie rods, and rotors/pads if they havent been changed recently.

Possible parts depending on what is installed on the car and what condition they are in: The engine, the front seats, front lip, and the wheels.

You could also just drive the DA since it's free.

The brake spindles/knuckles disconnect at the 3 ball joints and bolt right onto the EF chassis. Replacing the rotors/pads is a good choice, along with worn ball joints.

Grab the rear trailing arms with disc brakes and booster and master unless you have rear disc brakes already.

Is the rear brakes conversion worth the effort even though I don't drive the car fast or race it? I do live in San Francisco and a lot of steep streets. I'm hoping the front brakes upgrade is sufficient. And plus I read few write ups on rear conversions and it looks very involve.

The rear brake upgrade doesnt improve braking that much, because our cars mostly use the front brakes. however, if he is giving you the parts I would grab it. ~$200 worth of parts if you do grab them and they are clean.

Ok thanks, I'll find out if he can still donate the car without the rear wheels.
