small issue just need a little help
okay guys yesterday I got a 93 civic hatch with a b16 already installed the car runs great it starts up but every once in awhile it has a starting issue after about 3 to 4 tries it will fire according to the guy I got it from its was sitting for 4 years I'm just wondering do you think the fuel pumps going out possibly the fuel filter needs to be changed I put some seafoam in the gas and filled it with 91any other suggestions would be appreciated.
If you can do a compression test, that's a great start. It could be a number of things.
Try a compression test (and a leakdown test if you can) and post the results back here.
Any check engine lights on? Do you hear the fuel pump priming when you turn the key to the "on" position (without cranking)?

Could be a bad fuel pump, fuel filter, distributor coil, cap, and rotor. Especially since it's been sitting for so long. Does fuel pump turn on? Can you hear it pumping fuel when you fist turn key? Run a compression test. Check all the basics first. Don't just throw parts a it.

How much gas is in the car when you're trying to start it? Is the battery weak? I'm assuming it's cranking? Any CEL's?
