Default ELD problems

LS/VTEC Turbo integra. The higher the electric load, the more it will tend to stall the car, or make it lose power (although you can compensate with more throttle). I checked the battery and is at 14V at idle, but haven't checked with accessories on.

I'd check the voltage output at the alternator as it would most definitely cause an issue.

My buddy's car was throwing ELD code 20 when we had vtec unhooked and a loose ground at the thermostat.

Check to see that you're getting 14 or so volts at the alternator when the car is running. If it drops dramatically when you turn high beams on, consider getting the alternator bench tested before replacing it.

Edit: if it is a grounding issue, check the ground junction that is behind the headlights in the engine bay. Clean it to bare metal and report back.

Is this in a 1991 Ford Mustang?

If you wish to get a viable response, please tell us what you drive, what motor, what transmission, when the problem started, and the last thing before the problem started.

I suspect it is a bad ground. Check the thermostat housing. Disconnect the battery, clean the ground at the thermostat housing, tighten it again, connect battery and try it.
