Default ACT Heavy Duty vs. ACT Xtreme clutch - which one and why?

Well, my current setup is just basic I/H/E, v-afc, etc. and I am looking to run a nitrous setup for the next year until I turbo it. Now what I'm wondering is can a Heavy-Duty ACT clutch handle all of my planned setups, or should I get a Xtreme pressure plate w/ street disk just in case?

i had a friend that a SOHC and just changed the head (cant remember to which one right now, sorry) and had all the basics and NOS with a stage 2 clutch..... he had no problems except that he chriped in every gear..... so maybe you should go with a Stage 4 to be safe, my friend had a RX7 turbo with 25 pounds of boost and his stage 4 lasted.... but do some more research.... and what type of engine you have?

D16y8, SOHC VTEC. What is the equivalent of Stage 2? Heavy Duty or Xtreme?

From what I have heard, both the Heavy Duty and Extreme are better than the Clutch Masters Stage 2. The Heavy Duty might be the equivalent to the Stage 3, but don't quote me on that. Get some more opinions first.

xtreme is too much, i had that clutch on a sohc plus 8psi..it was so ****** stiff, if your car is a daily driver get the heavy duty..i got that now on my b16 and i love its not to stiff to drive on and still grabs hard..The xtreme is just way to stiff for daily driving its like a ****** workout..oh on both clutchs i used the street disc

im running the act xtreme disc and plate in my car and i think i have no complaints. when you first drive your car w/ this clutch, you will think that it is so damn stiff, but after a week, you'll get used to it. it feels like stock to me because ive gotten use to it

I hope you like peeling out in first and chirping all the gears WITHOUT even TRYING. Also be aware your gonna be breaking Drivetrain parts much faster. But for me, i'll never go back to a street clutch.

I also have the Xtreme Pressure plate with the Street disc and I also love it...its a well rounded clutch...if you want to drop the hammer it handles it fine....but if you want to take it easy its slips great to...I would buy it again!

Dude, i hope you never get caught in stop and go traffic.

I say order the street/strip disc and swap that unsprung in if you've got some serious racing to do.

Unless you don't drive that car every day.

You may have made a misjudgement.
