Default Changed the head gasket...now...

Alright im posting this for a friend. But he has recently changed the h ead gasket on his zc. ANd well hes trying to put the cams back on. ANd kant seem to get it right. Are there any sugesstions to get the timing right and all that good stuff? please help asap.

if i take of the valve cover, do i need to replace the gasket?

what are you talking about? you take the HEAD off...change the gasket cause its blown....then put the head back on and then the cams. now you have to line the cams up. Thats all i was asking.

oh alright...well no you dont need to replace the valve cover gasket. Should be fine.

its not really hard to get the head off. Just take the cams off and the head bolts are exposed...and they will come off.

As for the headgasket, buy one for the D16Z6 (92-95 Civic Ex/Si). This gasket fits the sohc ZC/D16A6 perfectly, plus it's stronger, and thinner than the stock gasket! This produces a slightly higher compression ratio, and better longetivity.

also, isn't the z6 gasket metal making it easier to remove later on down the road when you need to replace the head gasket?
