Default Engine/ Trans swap 93 Del Sol

I had a thought today, since I am going to swap my auto to manual, why not find an engine/ Trans combo with less miles so I don't have to rebuild my engine. What are the moat drop in friendly engines that will give me more power than my current D16? Any opinions and advice are much appreciated.

Obd1 B18B will be the easiest, obd1 b16 is just about as easy. If you use the harness that's supposed to be on the b18b or b16 for a 92-95 Civic or 94-95 Integra, there won't be any extra work besides bolting in the parts & plugging the ecu in.

Would I need to get a new ecu?

Are there any that are more or less plug and play?

I'm sure the D16 ECU is quite different from the B16 and B18s being suggested.

how hard would it be to swap in an F22? Would there be fabrication involved? Or would it mainly be swapping out wiring harnesses, ecu, etc.?

Del Sols came with B16's. Find one. The bigger you go in displacement the more difficult the swap will be and will start to require cutting, notching and fabrication.

Good point. Thanks for the advice. that would require swapping the wiring harness and ecu correct? Do any companies make wiring conversions for swaps?
