LSD Question
So this has been bothering for the past few days since i changed my oil
I had my front end of car on jack stands. I was wondering if i had lsd. I've had the car over a year now and haven't really cared to find out til the day i had it on jack stands. I put my car in 1st gear. Put a small pole to rev the engine to 2400rpm. Looked at my tires. Noticed only my driver side wheel spins fast, while my passenger side wheel struggles to spin. Passenger wheel kind does a jerking motion to rotate. I tried to assist it by spinning it by hand but doesn't help it. Just keeps jerking and moves an inch at a time.
Is there something wrong with my trans? bad part somewhere?
thanks for reading!

You can do this at idle - just try to hold the passenger side wheel.
It will try to spin the drivers side wheel if you have LSD.
It's pretty easy to remove the axle and look inside the hole to see if you have LSD though.
Just do that.

What trans do you have? That's an easy way to tell if you have a LSD.
Torsen/worm gear LSD's are open diffs if one wheel is in the air with 0 grip. They work on torque multiplication. And 0 x (anything) = 0. That's the short and dirty explanation. But you can read all about torsen/helical/worm gear LSD's for my explanation to make sense.

2. Remove the passenger side axle and look thru the diff hole.

So it's a USDM GSR trans. Those did not come with a LSD. JDM GSR (SIR-G) transmissions did come with an LSD option....but they don't have VIN numbers. They had viscous LSD's which don't behave like the torsen/helicals in the ITR/CTR trans.
When you say VIN says GSR, what 2 numbers come after the "JH4DC2"? Or does it read JH4DB8?
