Default Starting issue

I picked up my 94 teggy a few weeks ago and everything was good until last week two mornings in a row it had rough starts. Then friday night i was out and it wouldnt crank, but it would push to start. So I went and bought a new starter and still nothing so i took the starter to advanced auto parts and they tested the starter and it was good so i had them test my old one and that one was good too.. but today i tried putting jumper cables on the positive side of my battery and connected the the other side the the flat power side of the starter and it starts right up every time. So the starter is good, but where does the flat cable come from? What needs to be replaced. The starter just isnt getting any power to crank. And my battery is good. Any advice??

If it starts with a bypass jump, [ I am assuming that is what OP means, "and connected the the other side the the flat power side of the starter and it starts"] grounding is not the issue.

Do the above tests and let me know what you find. 94

Troubleshooting for gen 3 integra starting issues. Requires a multimeter.

Seems to be a lot of 'no start' issues on Tegs lately.

You do not need a multimeter, a simple 12V test light, [not LED type] is all you need.94

Agreed. Either way will work, but when someone's not too familiar with electrical work, disconnecting the battery (as in my little write-up - it's easy to miss with the huge pictures I can't resize) removes the chance of shorting something out.

Personally, I don't have a test light. Might be worth it for those one or two times I couldn't watch the DMM display for whatever reason.
