Icon2 TANK, VACUUM???

I took the original intake off my 92 prelude, and below the intake box was like an air feeder. Anyways i took this off also and I found it connected to this little black box. So after finding out its just a vacuum that opened up paddles inside of the air feeder I was curious what were to happen if I took this vacuum off? Would the car read a code? Should I keep the air feeder on the car? Only reason I think it might read a code is because it has a plug ran to it. Sadly I cant test to see if it would run a code right now because i'm currently in the middle of a swap.

Just cap off the hose at the intake manifold, it will be fine.
