are carbon fiber hoods outdated?
just like the title says
i just got a 95 gsr sedan and wrapped the roof in carbon viber vinyl,,and did a small valance look in carbon fiber
heres a pic
im just wondering if carbon fiber hoods are in or out anymore
i had one on a 96 integra i had in 2000,,but bee outta the honda game for a while now
i feel it would look good to go along w the roof
only other plans are im gonna mod some 2 door spoon mirrors to fit on my car
heres a few pics of my car
let me know what you think

iv had vis on all of my hondas and seemed to have good luck
iv just been outta the hondas for a while
dont really see too many around still in my area
anyone wanna photoshop my hood black or a greyish lol
im sure it will look good
now the question
to buy the carbon fiber spoon knock offs,,or just buy the non cf,,and gloss black them to match the tint ,just trying to hid the mirrors in the tint pretty much

I asked the same thing myself so I'm glad I saw this! But I agree I still like them. I hear a lot of people starting to call it "rice". I think it's bull. I have a carbon fiber trunk on my integra and it looks great!
then i thought about putting the cf wrap on my front lip from the center grill down
kinda like you see the newer charger srt-8,,and i believe lancers have it too
just not sure if that would look good
just having about the center 3 foot of my lip or so carbon fiber

it was pretty easy,,its just like applying tint if you have ever done that
iv done alot of the pre cut tints for cars
so just use some soap and water,,i have johnson and johnson baby shampoo and water mixed
use a heat gun to stretch and pull the vinyl to get any creases out ( the roof is pretty flat so you wont have a bad problem
use a plastic card or strait ebge to push all the excess fluid from under it
the hard part was trimming it around the front and rear window moldings
you wanna spray the mixture on the roof and the vinyl itself after u pull the backing off
in case the vinyl folds over on itself it wont stick together
i always use too much mixure,,but your just gonna push it out anyway
once you throw the heat over it it drys anyway
and usually take a few hours to a day to go away if any is still under the tint or vinyl
the vinyl i have is from my brothers work and is some pretty good 3m brand stuff,,not sure if anyone sells it online but im sure somewhere i could find the model it is
i have flat black,,and gloss black,,but wanted cf first
i apply the vinyl and tint the same way i do wheel stripes on my motorcycles or cars,,just always spray both the vinyl and the item your applying it on,,and use some heat ,,no too much u can watch it shrink right before your eyes lol

Lol...seen some rice kids with rusted hoods clear coated... now that's rice.....a cf hoof is a performance upgrade... I'm all about performance....i built a car that wasn't designed to handle and accelerate the way mine does...now all those new trends will fade away.....I used to have a full body kit.....the good old days..lol
No i dont believe carbon fiber hoods are outdated. As far as the rice factor i would say the vinyl is more rice than a real CF hood anyway. Either way It looks great, not so sure about the front lip though. Especially if your going to do the hood. Your about 2 steps away from covering the whole car at that point.
