Fuel vapor Lock? or what
Battled this for years really but seems a bit worse. Car runs great and I love it... but sometimes when I stop..get back in and it will not start. Accidentally tried to remove fuel cap. Always a big HISSSSSS. Most times back in and fires right up. Last few I have to crap a few times to get it going. I guess pressure builds especially hot. what do I need to do? Would it show up in diagnostics? hate to just start throwing parts and money into it with a guess. I am sure this is probably not first person to happen with but please advise me on this.
Its the injectors. The old style injectors dont work well when heat soaked. Same MS pulse doesn't equal same amount of fuel when hot. New injectors don't suffer from this. If youre tuning your Ecu then you can ramp up engine crank fuel with IAT and ECT temps to compensate for it.
thanks. I am about to restore it and good on everything except engine work. So are you saying there is an adjustment that can be made now or do I just go have new injectors installed?
