Well today I saw my temperature gauge go up so I waited added. Fluids everything seemed to be ok until I saw a small puddle of fluid on the ground so I went to find the source and saw this sticking out.

Just wondered if anyone knew what this shiny gear that looks out of place was.

Looks like your balance shaft pulley...and it's out of place probably because the balance shaft broke.

It also seems to have chewed through the black plastic timing cover that protects your timing belt & balance shaft belt.

It's the upper-left pulley in the pic below (pic is from the the bottom looking up at engine, with plastic cover removed).

 

If youre obd1 just cut off the balance belt temporarily if you really need to drive the car until you finally get a chance to fix it which might be never. Wont hurt anything.
