hello guys,

yesterday suddenly my b16 (si 00) started somehow hesitating at rpm range 2-5 K it sounded like a machine gun.

It is like a very fast cutoff.

The below parts were replaced since 6,000 miles:
-spark plug
-sprak wires
-rotor
-distributor cap

Could it be a bad coil or ICM ?

anyone had similar issue?

I had misfiring issues at 6-7k rpms and on. And switched out my dizzy and problem all gone but it's probably ur coil

 

BTW, does a bad coil or ICM cause check engine light ?
mine is not ON

 

Same problem... I replaced the coil pack, plugs, wires, diz interals, injectors, fuel filter, cap, rotor and fuel pump to find out that after none of it worked and three mechanics couldn't figure it out, I did a compression test and the valves were shot. Crazy part is it ran for eight months before it really started to act up. It would just misfire once in a while and then be fine. Do a compression test just to weed that out before you spend more money.
