Default Here's my story - bad battery?

So Fri Morn I take my son to daycare car starts no problem. Leave day care ,go to Home depot, in there for 10 min. car won't start. Get a jump pack on it ,fires right up np. Drive for 20 min. stop at home grab a battery just in case leave the car running while I run inside, drive another 15 min. to jobsite shut down no start. Switch batteries everything has been fine ever since.
Get the tester out today start by testing old battery 12.08 volts as its been sitting in the backseat for 3 days now.
New or other battery test out at 12.22 alt reads 14+
What I have noticed is the car doesn't start as hard or fast , takes a little longer tan it use to.
Is there something else I should check?
Was the battery a prelude to something else?

Battery voltage is only half of the story with a battery - it also needs enough amperage to spin the starter. The originally installed battery (we'll call it battery 1) failed, and didn't have enough amperage to turn the motor. Your replacement battery at home (we'll call it battery 2) has enough amperage to turn the motor, but not as much as battery 1 did before it failed.

Basically, battery 2 is either rated for lower CCA's than battery 1 is, or is close to failure.

Tested the alternator charging at 14+
Battery 2 failed today for a short period. Hit it with the jump box drove home left it running for 20min. shut down fired right up. Seems to happen when I make those quick trips ,when the car sits for 10min or so.
So how or where do I start for a parasitic draw search ,when I typically don't leave anything onradio, fan, lights, etc

Why do you think there's a parasitic drain?

Have you cleaned and tightened the G1 battery, G3 transmission, and G101 thermostat housing ground connections?

Didn't check the 101 but initial start up in the mornings or after the car has set is fine but like I said I drove to home depot was in there for 10 min. came out no start. Same thing earlier today. Ran into Firestone 10 min. tops no start. Didn't leave the lights or anything on

Saturday I ran the Parasitic Draw Test and the meter read zero no draw but the car is still draining the battery ,So I went to O'Reilly Auto parts and had them hook up a tester to the battery. Now since I am not a mechanic can someone please explain how this tester that hooks up only to the battery can tell that the alternator and the starter are bad. I put my meter directly on the power side of the alternator and it read 14+ volts. Their machine said it was charging at only 30 amps.
Anyway today I installed a starter from another car I parted out after I had it tested just to be sure it was good then I went ahead and grabbed an alternator just (well truthfully ) because when I work on the car everyone tends to leave me alone)
Just as I was finishing the starter it started to rain so all that's left is installing the battery that I charged over night . Reads 13.82
Will let you know how that worked out .
But still how does their tester work that it doesn't need to be hooked up to anything but the battery?
