Icon2 JDM D15B Into a 98 D16Y7 Honda Civic LX???

So I have the JDM D15B from a 96 Civic LX in my driveway and have the D16Y7 ready to come out. Everything but the mounts has already been dealt with. Problem Is I have been reading that the D15B is OBD1 and that it was never OBD2. When I bought it it stated manufacturer part number D16Y7. What kind of problems am I facing when I put this thing in? This swap is purely out of necessity because my old engine is shot the eff out. Plus I am not the most experienced as far as engine swaps go, It seems as though everything is the same from what I can see but all the information online doesn't help me with this one because supposedly only the vtec D15b was obd2 but this is def SOHC. Can I still use my old Exhaust Manifold/Cat, wiring harness, ecu, etc?????? PLEASE HELPPPPP!!!

they are identical which has me really confused. the stamps dont lie though thing is i cant find a date stamp on the d15b. its in now and everything bolts up right but the distributor connector isnt the same style. and i definitely cant use my old distributor its all sorts of bad cept for the rotor and cap and ign. coil. so can solder in my old conn to the new distributor wires?

Without more info I'd pass on that. A D15B being marketed as a D16Y7 replacement because it has the same style intake manifold?

It's being claimed as JDM but the plug on the distributor I've only seen in Indonesion markets. If I remember correct this is an odd ball made by Mitsubishi that even the Indo fellas ae are trying ffigure out.

There are a couple of Indo members on DSO who have some info on this.

Is that a vtec engine? If so you need to buy a distributor for the same year car as your but for the y8. that's it. Was there a difference between plugs for the iacv?

This is the engine you want:

Same thing, just swap your accessories (intake/exhaust manifolds, distributor etc) if you want to keep it simple.
