Default Engine knock

My 2002 Accord EX has an annoying engine knock usually when its colder temps outside and at initially at start up. I did a valve lash adjustment hoping that would lessen the knock. unfortunately it did not.
My computer has not kicked out any codes so, I eliminated MAP sensor or engine knock sensor. Is it possible either sensor could be bad w,o tripping a code. Has anyone had this issue.

Aside from that im thinking main crank bearings or wrist pin bearings due to the mileage of 225k

i would lean more toward connecting rod bearings. but first, make sure your ignition timing is within spec to rule out spark knock. if its good then proceed to next test. im going to catch heat for this lol but, while cold and running, when you can hear the knock, pull a spark plug off and replace it. listen to see if the knock is gone when you pull the spark plug off a specific cylinder. if the knock goes away then at least now you know which cylinder its coming from.

if not pinpointed soon you may have catastrophic engine damage later. i have had a rod go through my engine block. kind of cool but not because i was out a car/ motor.
