Default clearances for high hp e85

good morning fellas..

i would like some input of guys running e85 600-750 whp on ring end gap and bearing clearances..

what clearances do you guys recomend?

i have a 81.5mm jepistons.. p2w is set at 45 thou.. goal is 600+ hp running e85r

i typically run around the same gap and same bearing clearances for all motor...if you're very picky you can run very slightly tighter since the engine will run cooler vs. gasoline...but its a boosted setup so prolly just stick will same tolerances

We shoot for 17 on top ring and 19 on the middle.

My block was just done at golden eagle and am using cp's and they set it at .0045 and said good for up to 1000 on e85... I was thinking that was to tight but they would know more than me on that subject

I would put it close to these numbers.

Depends on how much street driving you plan on doing. I would do .005" per bore for a blown e85 motor and then .002-.003 larger on the 2nd.

Sounds like the .0045" number you got was per 1" of bore size.
