Hi I have a 99 civic ex 5spd that was misfiring cylinder 2 and 4. I changed new plugs and plug wires in and after that the car bogs and dies. Anyone know what's wrong or what I should do?

 

Did you check your dizzy? Are the wires connected in the right firing order?

 

Everything all connected correctly. Started the engine and it ran fine but I went to go drive it it dies. It dies at throttle.

 

Any CEL's? I would think it would be throwing CEL's if two cylinders were misfiring.

Also google Honda Civic 96-00 FSM. You should be able to locate a free downloadable Factory Service Manual for your car. The FSM is a must to any DYI maintenance.

 

Did you check the cap and rotor, and inspect the distributor internals?

 

Thanks guys for the help but I figured it out. I had wires for 3-4 mixed. I do have a cel for cylinder 2-4 though due to bad spark plugs. Since I got it replaced I can't get rid of the cel? Obd2 scanner can't turn it off either. I keep getting an error for the scanner. Any suggestions?
