Default SOHC turbo guys, I have a couple questions 4 ya.

My buddy and I want to build a turbokit for his 90 CRX. He is not a racer or street demon. The car will most likely never see the track. He is interested in making approx 180 to 200whp. We just picked up a spare motor to beef up for turbokit. My question is, I have some LS rods that came out of my car when it was stock. Has anyone ever used a LS rod in a SOHC non vtec motor? Our plan was to use the stock bottom end with LS rods and ARP rod bolts and a decent forged piston with a block guard. My buddy will never boost past 8 psi knowing him. He just likes to know the power is there if ever he needed it. Whats your take on this bottom end? and what are you guys running in your bottom ends? Lastly what do you think about a T25 turbo on this motor?

I do not think its necessary to run those internals if he's not going past 8 psi. Stock internals can handle 180-200 whp.

I use LS rods w/ JE pistons and blockguard in my SOHC.

I'm not turbo yet though

I realize that, but he just wants added security. The bottom end is going to be built strong. He will probably never utilize it but thats what we want to do anyhow. So if for some strange reason he wants more power we don't have to tear apart the block and try it again.

1. Good idea, go ahead with the rebuild.
2. He will want more power so go back to #1.
3. 200 hp in a CRX will blow you away, imagine how badass 300, 400, or more would be.
