whats the best for the least
hey im a apprentice so moneys a big factor and i recently bought a 2000 civic coupe but its a dx with no power or vtec so i feel like its not worth putting money into other then basic maintenance and i always wanted a b16 but im now worried i wont be able to find one in good shape so bottom line whats a good cheap engine i could swap oh and i want to stay n/a so vtech, any suggestions?
VTECH is an electronics maker; making such items as cordless phones and a toys for kids.
Just an FYI ...
B series swaps can still be bought for reasonable prices, and some are still in usable condition.

How cheap are you wanting?
B20b-$500 for base, $650 with pr8 head and $700 for the high compression. Pr8 head is the best flowing non vtec head. Check out hmotorsonline.com. get your self a ls transmission so you can cruise on the freeways without spinning the motor so high. Then later down the road, add a turbo or some kind of "power adder" of your choice. You could also do a b20vtec build. Throw a b16, gsr itr ect... head on a b20. They make awesome power.

Best for the least is an expression inappropriate for the NA forum IMO.
Set a power goal and budget and we can give you some suggestions.
Accord k24 and a cheap LSD IMO.
Or simply turbo d and phantom grip.
