More information is needed, what are your goals? N/A or turbo? what transmission will you be using? Will there be any crank driven accessories? etc. etc. etc.

Cheap, Reliable or fast.
choose 2. you can only have 2.

low budget+crvtec=broken motor.

if I was you I wouldn't go b20/vtec yet.. I'd go straight b20.. get a good header so u can re use it when u do the vtec head swap..get some cheap o Ls intake manifold..run it like that .. save up even more then BUILD the beast

hahah bob
I'll just get some piston for the b20, You dont need aftermarket rods because stock rods are fine and strong. Just remember to get new parts.

best = http://www.importbuilders.com
cheapest = Do It Yourself and don't do much either

pick one... sounds like you need a little more reading under your belt.

i just put my built crvtec into my rex this past weekend... https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id...723173#2723173
if i had to it all over again, i would do this:
-straight b20 nonvtec (obviously)
-y1 tran w/ quaife lsd
-good header
-aem cai
-100 shot wet direct port NOS
-custom 2.5 exhaust with low restriction muffler

a crvtec setup adds up quick. i have about $5500 in mine as of now and i got some really good deals on some of the big priced items.
