Default Might have found my coolant problem - advice please?

Ok, so what's been going on from the day I bought my 1994 Accord EX Wagon (5 speed), is there's SOME kind of pressure buildup happening in the coolant system! It would be much appreciated if you would continue reading and It'll explain EVERYTHING - tell me what ya think!

First, lets explain what's happening. The car runs GREAT, pulls pretty hard for what it is and other than my problem, is an OVERALL great car w/ the F22B1 Vtec motor! The problem lies in the coolant system somewhere... I think it was the 3rd night I had it (I hadn't YET got on it (ON IT! ) either at the time), I decided to take a lone trip and just see what she would do! Ran great, you could FEEL the Vtec kick in, it was awesome. I was impressed. No lie.

So I get home after that ride thinking to myself, "hell yea! This is going to be an awesome lil wagon to cruise in!!!", as I popped the hood. BOOM! Problem! I had noticed when I GOT THE CAR that it may need a heater core flush and/or new core, because it was lacking heat and I don't like that!

Anyways.... Back to what I found! Well I popped the hood to find the overflow LITERALLY overflowing because of how much PRESSURE their was coming from the hose connected to radiator! 10 mins passed of it doing THIS! (until all coolant was gone in overflow, as well as about a quart in the rad)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M4a6l69HlZc&feature=youtube_gdata_player

I INSTANTLY thought of the headgasket for some reason! Though I haven't gotten there YET, it COULD be the problem. But my gut was/is saying "NOT IT BUDDY!"

So I proceeded to do the following:

- Checked BOTH of my fans... They BOTH work accordingly.
- Performed Compression Test (came out to 150psi on ALL cylinders with NO loss of compression)
- Flushed Entire Coolant system with Peak Radiator Flush/Cleaner
- Replaced thermostat
- Replaced Rad Cap
- Backflushed the ISH out of the Heater Core
- Drained and flushed the radiator from rad cap to the petcock with pretty decent amount of pressure (NOTHING crazy though!)
- Everything got blown out with air compressor as well (at 5-10psi)

So... All that said! It fixed my heat TREMENDOUSLY, its SCORCHING now.... I love it! Haha. BUT IT DIDN'T FIX THE PROBLEM!

Let me make something else clear as well. The car NEVER overheats, NEVER! Also, if you drive it NORMALLY you'll never LOSE coolant, it will only be air bubbles flowing into the overflow, via the hose. Making it SOUND like boiling water, but its REALLY just like blowing air threw a straw! Feel me?

So... That sums it up in a nutshell! Its still doing the same thing TO THIS DAY, I just carry around a big thing of 50/50 at ALL times and keep an eye on it

I found out some "NEW INFO" today and I'm WONDERING if this could be the cause to my woes!

WHAT I FOUND IIIISSSSS... YA READY?!?!!?!

My upper and lower radiator hose can be squeezed by my pointer and thumb at ANY TIME! They are like PAPER! You would think they COULD/WOULD be collapsing (but I have NO WAY to tell!) and on top of that, would this even cause this AIR getting in the system?! Or WHATEVER the hell it is?!

THAT is the question of the day! I'm thinking about replacing those and my radiator. Then going all out on a new headgasket, water pump, timing belt, tensioner, etc.... BUT, THAT would break me!

SO I REALLY HOPE SOMEONE HAS SOME KNOWLEDGE ON THIS SITUATION!!!! HAHA! CHRISTMAS GIFT FOR ME!!!

PS: I tried to pressure test the coolant system at O'rielly's but the tester they had, didn't have the right cap! It was too deep! And when I pushed on it, it actually broke a lil piece of that "lip" off, in the radiator fill hole!!! So I'm wondering if its just falling apart like that in the rad too?!

HELP! Haha...

Because I just needed to REFRESH the entire LIST of things that I've discovered/done/been told/etc!

Now it's JUST THIS.... Can we try to stay focused on IT? I would REALLY appreciate it!

The electric fan switch on these fails alot (20 years old now) and won't reliably operate the fans. Make sure your fans are working.
Or, disconnect your ac compressor 2 wire connector and then turn your ac on. that will operate both fans without operating the ac system. Go for a hard ride and see if it still overheats. With both fans running, it would be hard to overheat without a serious problem.

But did you even really the entire OP and watch the video??? Lol

The video shows the fan on....

... The text says 3-4x's there's absolutely NO OVERHEATING whatsoever.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE JUST READ THE POST CAREFULLY BEFORE POSTING! I BEG YOU!

Most time if you need a water pump it usually has a leak by the timing belt or your water pump has locked up or timming belt has snapped. Im pretty sure 99% its not that. The radiator check for cracks sometimes it leaks from where plastic meets alumium. Highly doubt that. I think your problem lies on the head gasket. Thermostat or proper bleeding cooling syystem

Thermostat is brand new... I REALLY need to just find the CORRECT coolant pressure tester and see whats happening! Those things can tell WONDERS!

It COULD be a "slowly" going bad water pump, If that's the case, I'll be replacing the head gasket, timing belt, pump, tensioner, yada yada yada!

What hose was "out of wack"?! Causing the same symptoms, I'd love to know... As these coolant systems don't vary THAT much!!!

You might have made/introduced a new issue.

The rad cap has two sealing points. The upper and the lower, if you broke part of the lower seal/lip of the rad then coolant/pressure is going to get passed that and then go to the overflow tube.

Just something to think about.

I gotcha... I was thinking it was an Accord w/ an F series motor! Nonetheless, I do need to dig threw some diagrams and such - get to know the car better!

WITH THAT SAID, if I could JUST find a coolant pressure tester that'll fit my top, I'm in business! Once the entire thing is pressurized, it'll either be (among other possible things):

A. Hard as HELL to pump (at first!!), which wouldo be air bubbles if it finally "breaks free".

B. Hard as hell to pump the entire time, which would indicate a blockage somewhere.

C. I'll be able to pressurized it fine, but than it'll leak from somewhere and all I gotta do is get out some soapy water and a flashlight!

D. It'll pressurize fine, hold fine and be fine. Aka, not my problem (headgasket!)

I'm honestly wondering IF THERE'S EVEN A WAY to get a Coolant Pressure Tester on there now....

... Due to the NOW broken lip where the "spring part" of the seal sits!!!

Damnit!!!!!!

I'm still working on the coolant issues, though HONESTLY it seems as if it has gotten BETTER over time?!

Maybe the radiator or WHATEVER is starting to TRY and inclog itself, or the system FINALLY bled out 100%??

Maybe I'm just getting USED to it?! Lol... Nonetheless, I should have my truck back on the road within the week and then I can just redo EVERYTHING on the Accord! From the headgasket/ARP Headstuds ALL the way to the new radiator hoses, connected to a FRESH, NEW radiator!!!

Just trying to stack some $$$ so I can do ALL this at once! The shop is SLOOOWWWW right now! Should pickup a TAD right before the HARSH of winter... hopefully .

Absolutely buddy... I'm not one of those that will FINALLY find the fix and never tell what happened or what the culprit(s) were!!! I HATE THAT!

I like to SHARE when I figure something out, as it could potentially help other people and it DECREASES the amount of the SAME SUBJECT being posted over and over! (What EVERY mod, long time member, troller and the likes will ***** about!)

I'll be reading something, identical scenario, getting excited because they're coming to a conclusion............... Then *POOF*!!!! Gone. Never to be heard from again. Pisses me off royally!

You have ALL the time in the world to update, post pics, ask for help, yada yada yada... But no time to post back the result of what HAPPENED?! If the problem was fixed or not? What fixed it EXACTLY? All those ppl should be banned from ALL forums!

Anyways.... After that LONG answer to your simple question (venting - lol)! Are you looking at the same situation/scenario? If so, we may be able to "dial this in"!

When the OP realized that he didn't have time to post back the result of what HAPPENED he may have pissed himself off so royally that he banned himself from ALL forums!
