Overheating Problem
First, I am new to this forum, and I have not searched it completely for my problem. I have a 1990 Honda Accord LX 2.2L F22A1 Automatic Tranny. When my car is at idle speed, the temperature rises. As I begin to accelerate and get the RPM up around 2k-above, the temperature will go back down to normal. I've been driving about 35mph and the car is below 2k rpm, but the temperature still will rise. So that sort-of tells me that it's not an air problem. The thermostat was replaced about a year ago. Does anyone know if this could be signs of a failing water pump? Or is it some other problem? Please help me out. Thanks!!
Either you've insufficient coolant in the system, or your Radiator cooling fans are not working. As a test, if you turn on the a/c they should cycle. If they do, you can eliminate the condenser fan relay and it's associated fan motor.
I'd check all fuses.
Locate the radiator fan temp switch (ground the attached wire to ground)
--the other fan should run. If it doesn't, suspect the radiator fan Relay/Timer.

I think if the coolant was changed a year ago air caught in the system would have caused a problem before now. Unless it got really low before you added some.
