Post Ordering Motor

Where should I order a motor/engine for my 1998 Honda Civic Lx? I'm looking forward to buy either a B16(A2,A3,B), B18(B1,C1,C5), D16Y8. Or what motor do you guys recommend?

why not just buy another d16 replacement save your pennies with ur change left over and boost it. you will make more power then all those swaps with stock motor. just be sure to buy a good turbo kit and u wont have any problems when installed correctly and tuned...

If your budget is below $1500, you aren't going to swap, and you aren't going to boost. Go get yourself a replacement D16Y8 and call it a day.

Car-part.com is a good resource to find local used parts, if you're not familiar with it already. At least it would save on shipping!

a b20 and b18(non vtec) full swaps can booth be had for under 1K, the b20 for under 700$....dunno what you guys are talking about. OP both can be made into VTEC engines by getting a vtec head along with 200$ worth of misc to get it running. and will have a bit more torque over their factory VTEC counter part engines seeing as they have 89mm cranks vs 87mm(VTEC).

Post a WTB on the different market place areas in this forum. You might find someone local that has one that wont rape you. If you want to boost later you could get another D16Y7, they are generally easier to find and not as expensive.

I know, around here, long block junk yard engines are at least $800 if you don't go to a u-pull.
