Default Crv is over heating

I have 98 crv lx awd . It started to over heat because the fan is not kicking on. First I jumped the switch to see if it would and it did not. Replaced the fan, still did not go on. Jumped the fan switch and it started. So I changed the thermostat thinking it was stuck along with the fan switch just eliminate it from the equation. Stil having over heating problem. I decided to swap the radiator . Wasn't the problem. All parts are from honda no after market parts.. Any help would be great thanks ..

Considering everything you replaced, the only thing left is the fan relay.

overheating always sucks. so many things. can you bleed the coolant? oil and coolant colors look normal? hate to say it but blown HG could be a cause.

try searching too many people on this site have had the same problem.

Did you read the same thing I did?

Did he say that he actually replaced the rad. in an attempt to fix this, even though the cooling fan was STILL NOT coming on? He said he jumped the fan switch "and it started" - but was the fan running & cycling correctly the next time it overheated? If jumping the fan switch caused the fan to run, don't you replace the fan switch? Thermal switch, right?

What say the OP?

I guessing not bled correctly and air still in cooling system.
OP: did you raise the CRV front end higher so the cap is raised highest?
did you squeeze hoses to get bubbles to come up?
did you turn on the heat full blast while bleeding it?
Did the fan come on for at least 2 cycles and bleed until no more bubbles were showing?

If the fan isnt working, I would start with the relay. The open closed circuit may have gotten to hot and grounded itself out. Check your fuses as well.

My 92 civic had me running in circles and replacing parts that you just listed. I ran the same troubleshooting stuff everyone mentioned above too. Then I stumbled upon a short between the harness terminals and the thermal switch near the thermostat. I went back to Autozone again for another thermal switch and the fan cycled beautifully. I had already performed an ohm check on the thermal switch beforehand and it cycled. I suspect the first thermal switch I replaced was not made to the right specs to mate correctly with the harness. Still runs fine since July 2013.
