Icon2 2000 Ek coupe low compression ISSUE

Hey guys i have a 2000 honda civic DX coupe, It was low compression in cylinder 1 &3 , I just replaced the plugs and wires, The motor has 212k on it. I am the second owner of the car. My machanic told me that 1&3 have 78psi and 2&4 have 185psi. What could i do to fix this? and What do you think is wrong.

It could be any number of things: Burnt valves, bad headgasket, bad piston rings. Does it burn a lot of oil? Does it use coolant?

burnt/warped valves most likely if it's THAT low. Bad HG won't cause number's that low....rings would have to be completely shot for it to be that low again. I'll bet you replaced the plug and wires cause it has a rough idle/slight mis, time to put new valves in not a hard job just some what time consuming.

only way to tell is a leakdown test but it's easier to replace all of them at once.

requires puling the head then the rocker arm assembly I don't have any links to a DIY. you could just bring the head to a garage and have them do it.
