Default Bent Valves, Low compression?

I misshifted bad earlier in the day. If I do indeed have bent valves, will my compression test read low, or is there a possibility of it reading normal. Thanks

yeah, it can not show if it leaks slowly, on the compression tester you have a check valve so air cant come back into the cyl.; so if pressure builds up and then it leaks it wont show.

If the idle is fine, check valve clearances;; if for example 2 are off then you know

do a leak down test and then listen for where it is leaking from.

you can test if you have bent valves with compression test. if somehow there is low compression the you have bent valve, hg, or rings as the culprit. with bent vavlves comprsion will hit a certain point and remain there evn if you turn the engine over a million times. leakdown will tell you exactly where the leak is. but comprssion will help out too.
