Default Aftermarket flywheel needed for a stage 4 clutch?

Getting a stage 4 six pick clutch kit for my si. Should I buy a competition fly wheel with it or should I keep my stock b16 flywheel and just get it resurfaced ? Does it make a difference ?

You don't *need* an aftermarket flywheel for any clutch, but you should remove it, have it resurfaced, and replace the flywheel bolts while the clutch is off. The lighter your flywheel, the faster your car will be able to accelerate, but a lightweight flywheel will reduce low speed/low RPM (think parking lots and stop-and-go traffic) driveability. Also, if you have a turbo, stick to a stock-weight flywheel.

Turbo, or NA? DD, track car, weekend warrior? Necessary variables to make an informed recommendation.

Should I get one to accelerate faster or just keep the one I have now. I don't really plan on racing anytime soon. I'm thinking I should just get it resurfaced.

For daily driving, I would stick with just getting the stock flywheel resurfaced. The Fidanza B16A2 flywheel weighs 7.5 lbs. The Fidanza I have weighs in at 6.8, and it's noticeably unpleasant to drive at low speed/low RPM. Acceleration gains will be minimal, and negligible.

So pretty much I'd be wasting my money on getting an aftermarket flywheel?

Click the link and you will know what he means..

Get a refund on that stage 4 clutch, buy an Exedy from amazon for 120 shipped and resurface your fly. then use the $$ you saved elsewhere.
