Default rain and slipping and understeer

i did some wild driving tonite and the roads were wet... when i took some hard 90 deg corners and i get a huge understeer when the LSD kicks in... anyone else notice this? i'm not saying its nessesarily bad, but actually its BADASS, theres so much control in our cars!

and dont worry guys, it was in an empty lot (where local auto-x are held), so no one was in danger...

Doesn't matter....people will still yell at you. There might have been an innocent little child playing with his dog in the lot and you never would have seen him...

Just being sarcastic and making fun of the way people flame when stories of exceeding the speed limit or hitting VTEC on public roads are told on this board.

when i take some 90 degree turns when wet~ my front loses~

dunno how to correct it~

does that mean my lsd is dead?

how do i check if my lsd is still alive?

i heard about jacking up the car and put it into gear and turn one of the tires and if the other one goes opposit side then it's ok but it'snt it gonna lock both front?

how can i check it out?

If you're understeering, that means you're going into the corner too or turning too abruptly.

Also, I second Ross' warning about the danger of hitting the young children.

Your tires might suck or you are trying the turn at too high of a speed in the rain.Just be careful you dont split your wig.

the tires are damn good, SO-3's... and yea i am taking the corners faster than i should... usually 40~50 mph... but these are hard cuts, not little baby turns... oh well, it was a chance to really get to know my car in the rain...

Correct me if I'm wrong Ross and Reid,,,

but, understeering is plowing and happens when as already described you take the wrong line into a corner and use the throttle a little too early.

and, oversteering is when the tail is sliding or drifting as you rotate through turn.

Both can be remedied and both can be controlled, learning to do so is KEY with the R...

Lift throttle oversteer is when you are going into the corner, applying the throttle and let off the throttle give up using the LSD upset the car and the rear just takes over and applies the forces of physics and momentum, which is especially prevalent with the Integra.

And YES oversteering in the rain "drifting" is fun but, can be pretty dangerous. I'm no saint and I will not stand on a soapbox, let's just say he is forewarned... And that I learned a Hell of a lot about oversteering in the rain the last wet autocross I drove, It WAS fun BTW.

Just be careful...

a quick recap:

Oversteer = FUN

Understeer = Not Fun

A.

PS I've spent plenty of time spinning and have since learned to keep my right foot to the floor! It's strange to relearn how to do something you learned completely differently almost 14 years ago.

If you try to turn to sharply, with too much speed, you will push. Rain makes it 100X worse. I love the rain, the great equalizer. When you get on the gas too soon out of a corner you will push. If you don't unwind out of a corner you will push. Rain really teaches you how your car handles, it forces you to be patiant. I love passing z06's and porsche's in the rain.
