Hi all,

My driver side door handle isn't working at ALL, it's as loose as it can be and just feels flimsy. I can't unlock or lock from outside or open it but I can open the door from the inside. I took the door panel off, and tinkered around a little but I don't know what I'm looking for. I don't see any wires attached to the door handle, just a metal rod that comes down but it's really loose, a spring came out pretty easily also so I'm guessing that's not good. The automatic locks aren't working for just the driver side too. Looking for help, need to know if I need a new door handle or I can fix this.

 

Both the outside and interior door handles on the Del Sols are notorious for breaking. The exterior handles cost about $10 each on Ebay and are fairly easy to replace. The interior are about $50 each at Honda parts now.
Both are pretty straightforward to replace... 2 bolts that can be reached through holes for the exterior handle. There's bound to be a good DIY if you search.
Ask more questions if you have trouble.

I'm back to add one of those DIYs that looks pretty good. For exterior, I've always just bought a new handle, but this looks like a good fix. Also it has good diagrams of the door handle removal.
