Default brake question

my 94 del sol is slowly comming back together after my unfortunate accident,
and i wanted to know if anyone could tell me a few ways to get my braking system to perform better at high speed. i dont have abs so at high speed the brakes get real touchy and have a tendency to want to lock up. lets face it going fast and locking your brakes isnt good. i'm not affraid to spend some cash on it but i dont feel like spending several thousand dollars on a big brake kit!--i paid less for my car!--any ideas would be really helpful!

Slow your driving habits and don't mash the brakes as hard. I don't know, I don't have this problem and I run stock Honda pads.

If your brakes are locking up, that means they are doing their job. I certainly don't think spending money on a big-brake kit will do much for you, if not make the problem worse. I would suggest learning how to oscilate your brake pedal during these conditions (why you are driving like this in traffic is another problem alltogether ), or perhaps try to install anti-lock on your car? I've heard the Canadian SIR came with anti-lock brakes and installing the mechanism is fairly easy.
