95 Civic brakes locking up - replaced calipers and some brake lines
hey guys first off the car is a 5spd 95 civic, the problem is that my friend his breaking keep locking up, we changed the caliper, bled the brake system.
Problem brakes keep locking up
Replaced Pads, and caliper, brake line to caliper
Scenario: driving down the road press the brakes its fine, after a few times the brakes get stiff and the brakes eventually lock up. Only way to get the brakes to release is to rebleed the system.
Causes? would the cause of this be a bad break booster?

Re: brake issue
1-Make sure you have the pins greased up really good so they slide smoothly
2-Make sure you Don't over fill the brake fluid. overfilling will cause the brakes to self apply and can cause the rotor to overheat and warp
3-If it has abs there could be a problem with ABS Unit
4-also is it the front brake that is locking? if it is a back brake it could need some lube on the backing plate, if it has drum rear brakes

Re: brake issue
a bad brake booster can cause the brake pedal to become hard to push. to quick test it do this.......with the car off pump the brake pedal 3 or 4 times until its good and stiff then hold your foot on the brake pedal pushing on it pretty hard and start the car... The pedal should sink slightly IF the booster is operating properly. if the pedal does nothing then the booster is junk.

Re: brake issue
and when the pedal get hard... is the engine shutting off? if the engine shuts off the pedal will become hard to push because there is no vacuum to the power brake booster.
